The Arts Society
Enriching lives through the arts
In 2016 NADFAS - a leading arts education charity with 90,000+ members - started to plan its 50th anniversary and asked whether its original name and brand was still fit for purpose in the 21st century?
The existing brand was perceived by many as inward looking, old-fashioned and confusing and did not support the appetite for change and priority to grow the membership. Working with Studio Sutherl& we discussed their purpose, values and future direction with all aspects of the organisation: members; committee members; volunteers; lecturers; grant recipients; staff and Trustees, which led to a new brand strategy, name and visual identity. Today over 345 societies have adopted the new brand and their digital communications, magazine have been updated to reflect the new positioning.
During 2019 we returned to work with The Arts Society on Phase 2 of the brand development - to develop tone of voice guidelines, facilitate a programme of internal, staff engagement with the brand strategy and develop a strategy to extend and enhance the organisation’s visibility and vital work to enrich lives through the arts.
“Jo approached the work and heritage of The Arts Society with a huge amount of respect. She led the conversation and brought her experience, insights and knowledge to the project, guiding Trustees, members and management throughout.”
